Summary: A non-invasive study designed to detect jaguars in the remote mountains along the border between southern Arizona and Sonora, Mexico.

Project Title: Gente e Onças
Location: Alta Floresta, Brazilian Amazon
Summary: The People & Jaguars Coexistence Project aims at understanding the historical, psychological, economic, cultural and social factors that explain peoples' attitudes and behaviours towards jaguars in Brazil. Assessments of knowledge, beliefs and attitudes to jaguars among landowners and their families have been carried out in the Atlantic Forest, Pantanal, western Amazonia and Amazon agricultural frontier. On the Amazon frontier, education and communication interventions to improve human-jaguar relationships have been developed based on the results of the research.

Northern Jaguar Project & Naturalia
Project Title: Various
Location: Sierra Madre Occidental, México
Summary: In 2004 the Northern Jaguar Project partnered with Naturalia to establish the 10,000-acre Los Pavos Jaguar Reserve. They are now working to establish the Northern Jaguar Reserve. The Northern Jaguar Project incorporates the Jaguar Guardians Program, and an Education Program. They are also involved in research and environmental restoration initiatives .

Pró-Carnívoros
Project Title: Pró-Carnívoros have several research projects throughout Brazil which focus on jaguars. Some of these projects are collaborations with CENAP (ICMBio)

ProCAT
Project Title: Proyecto Conservación del Área Talamanca
Location: Costa Rica
Summary: Proyecto Conservación del Área Talamanca (ProCAT) has the goal of improving the state of biodiversity knowledge for the Caribbean Talamanca Region of Costa Rica so that management and conservation decision-making can be based on a solid scientific foundation. The project's focal species is the jaguar, which once inhabited the entire region but is now rare or absent throughout much of its historic range.

Project Title: Jaguar Conservation Program
Location: Range-wide
Summary: The program includes jaguar population and distribution surveys, ecological studies, human-jaguar conflict research and rancher outreach, population monitoring, and health and genetic research. WCS partners many local scientists and the majority of funds are disrtibuted to projects throughout the jaguar's range.
